Come and work at The Shed Factory

We are currently looking to expand our workforce and we have a couple of positions open. Firstly we have a role that would suit a younger person (maybe 16-25) with an interest in learning woodworking skills used in the manufacturing of timber frame garden buildings. The second option is for the more mature person who already has some woodworking skills and ideally some joinery experience. Previous experience in the manufacturing of timber framed buildings would be a bonus. Both positions involve the manufacturing of garden buildings in our workshop here in Cambridge and the delivery and installation of these buildings to customer sites.

Any candidates would need to be fit, healthy and reasonably strong as some of our work can be quite strenuous. A basic knowledge of labouring would be useful as laying paving slabs and concreting is involved when we construct and lay our own shed bases.

Our work is varied but involves the following:

1. Designing and manufacturing timber frame buildings
2. Basic carpentry
3. Labouring and slab laying out on site for our customers buildings
4. Delivery and installation of timber frame buildings
5. Painting and treatment of our garden buildings
6. Glass cutting and glazing
7. Fencing.

Any candidates will need to be polite and able to interact with our customers. A confident telephone manner would help, good time keeping is essential and a driving licence would be desirable.
